Hello Friends! I am SO EXCITED for Easter!!! I have a super fun project that anyone can do, even during quarantine! This Easter caught my family and me unprepared, and because of quarantine we can’t go and buy stuff for Easter! That meant no dying eggs this year. Why? We only have brown eggs. :( It felt hopeless until…I realized I could make pretty eggs with the stuff I had! When I mean only what I had, I mean it! You’ll see later in this post that I used only what I had, even to the greatest measure.
Here is what happened: I boiled eggs for dyeing until I realized that I can’t dye brown eggs, and that got me thinking. What if I painted them? But if I painted them, they would be inedible, therefore would rot. But what if I made the eggs to last for next year and not be eaten! But how? Then I got to thinking I could somehow drain the egg out of the shell. My mom suggested a traditional way I didn’t know existed. (I’ll tell about it later in the post) I tried that way and made these wonderful eggs! Now I will show you how to do it, using ONLY what you have on hand right now!
Okay so you’ll need eggs. Brown or white, it doesn’t matter. Use what you have on hand. Sorry, but if you don’t have eggs, it might be hard to do this but, you know. Be Creative!!!
Next, you’ll need something to poke holes in the eggs with. I used needle but you could also use a fork. Use the needle or whatever you find to poke two small holes on either side of the egg. If you’re using a fork only poke one hole on one side.
See the hole on the right side below? There's one like that on the other side too, but you can't see it in the photo. If you're using something that only makes big holes, that's okay but only make one hole.
Next blow the egg out. I know, gross! But worth the effort. Use your mouth, put it on one side and BLOW through the hole! The egg should come out the other side through the other hole, but if it doesn’t consider making the holes bigger. Be careful! The eggshell is fragile. If you made a big hole (mentioned above) because you had to, then just try to shake it out. You may want to try to rinse the eggshell. But that is optional.
After the egg is out, decorating time! Use what you have on hand to decorate, that may be food dye, paint, glue, stickers. Literally anything!
I used paint, but as you see I didn’t have paint brushes, so I used my finger. :) Seriously, use what you have!!!
Next I rolled it in "glitter" that I had. Actually not glitter. Embellishment Powder. But it worked like glitter! Yup, I used whatever I have, and it turned out great!
Honestly use what you have. As you’ve seen I used random stuff, and it worked great!!!!
I highly recommend trying it! Even if you think you don't have the stuff!
I took some great photos!
This egg got broken (accidentally) But i got a pic before it broke .(as I said the eggshell is fragile!)
I love this photo! Glitter & white paint!
Really, using creativity you can accomplish anything! You can try this project with almost nothing but creativity! Please enjoy your Easter!
@Anna, Thanks, and I think you and Alexandrea might really enjoy it.:) Blowing eggs out is actually really satisfying! ;)
Thank you!
Wow!!! That is a really cool idea! Never thought to do that! I might do with Alexandrea this week! Haha blowing out the egg will be fun for her!
Fun! You always are doing creative projects!
